Organizing the seminar course
- Verify the room assignment with the adminstrative assistant, usually Bernie
- Verify the assigned time and day with Joe and other faculty
- Verify that the seminar email list includes new students and students registered for the class
Inviting speakers
- Funding will determine whether invited speakers are local or not
- Ask whether speakers want you to arrange for hotel (Quality Inn, on Route 1)
- Speakers usually arrange their own flight
- Send speakers info on ways to get to campus (prepared email)
- Send prepared descriptions of PERG seminar
Arranging for speaker reimbursement

Preparing for a talk
- Request a title and abstract at least a week before. Send to Nick Hammer for seminar email, post flyers around building, and send details to seminar email group
- Arrange their schedule (individual meetings with group members)
- Prepare a speaker introduction
- Check whether the speaker needs equipment: speakers, laptop, projectors, or speakers (on the day of the talk)
- Organize dinner afterwards
- At the seminar, introduce speakers and have the audience introduce themselves
