Minority Student Pipeline Math and Science Partnership (aka MSP2)
We work with local grade school teachers to make sure science class involves students doing inquiry. We do this in part by relying on the skills and resources students bring into the class with them, including causal intuitions as well as ideas about what knowledge is and how it is created. Doing this will, among other things, hopefully empower students who are traditionally underrepresented in math and science to come to identify themselves as capable of doing and enjoying science. We also do research on how our goals play out these local classrooms.
