About Me:
I am a graduate student at the University of Maryland in the Physics department. I currently work as a Research Assistant with my advisor, Chandra Turpen, on the Effective Practices for Physics Programs led by APS. I was awarded the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship in 2021. Previously, I have been a Teaching Assistant working with an Introductory Physics course for Biologists. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in May of 2019. At the University of Michigan, I studied Physics and minored in Computer Science. I got started in PER in my senior year at UM, and I am excited to continue in the field at UMD.
Research Interests:
- How Physics departments make decisions about their programs and implement change.
- How students are valued as stakeholders and the possible influence they have on institutional and departmental change.
- I have previously worked on a research project into student writing about physics, specifically evaluating the mechanisms of peer review.
